San Francisco - 8pm March 29, 2008
San Francisco News
Free CFL's will be distributed at the Crocker Galleria Farmers' Market this Thursday, March 27th from 11 am – 3 pm and at the Noe Valley Farmers’ Market this Saturday, March 29th. Please look for the "Green Zebra" booth at both locations.
Also in an effort to raise awareness of this important event, we’re asking companies like yours and people like you to join in two important visibility efforts on Friday, March 28th from 11 am to 1 pm and on Saturday, March 29 from 9 am to noon.
Friday:
Volunteers will convene in Justin Herman Plaza starting at 11 am. They will receive lunch
and Earth Hour collateral and, after a brief 11:30 am orientation, will be sent to
predetermined locations all over downtown. At 1 pm participants will be free to return
directly to work.
This is an important effort as we hope to encourage as many people as possible to turn off their lights and computers when they go home that evening.
Please identify volunteers within your organization and have them attend the orientation and outreach on March 28th at Justin Herman Plaza.
For more information and to RSVP please contact Andrew Brown at andrewbrown66@yahoo.com.
Saturday:
Between 9 am and noon, teams of volunteers will spread out all over the City to
engage fellow San Franciscans about joining Earth Hour that evening. You will be
giving away CFLs in your neighborhood and encouraging people to participate in
Earth Hour! It will be a fun morning. To volunteer on March 29th - please send an
email to earthhour@sfwater.org with your name and
phone number and we'll contact
you about your volunteer location. Please indicate if you live on the east or
west side of San Francisco.
